Sign Language Interpreting Services
Westchester County is committed to ensuring equal access to all persons with disabilities.  All Westchester County offices will provide sign language interpreters to individuals who need and request them.  The Westchester County Office for the Disabled currently contracts with over 25 sign language interpreters who serve as independent contractors and provide interpreting services to the deaf and hard of hearing populations.  For more information about scheduling sign language interpreters for a given event, please call (914) 995-2956.

Go Before You Show
A countywide campaign to encourage pregnant women to seek prenatal care in the first three months of their pregnancy and link them to a prenatal care provider.

Health Insurance (NY State of Health)
Free or low-cost health insurance for all children and teens under 19 years of age.

Healthy Mom, Healthy Baby
By calling 2-1-1,  pregnant women can get help to connect to prenatal care, apply for insurance coverage for prenatal care and receive care for themselves and their baby. 

Hazardous Materials Response
Emergency incident response, complaint investigations, hazardous waste site investigations, hazard assessment and chemical substance information.

Healthy Heart Strategies
Information and intervention to promote heart healthy lifestyles.

HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing
Free and confidential counseling and testing; health education. Assists medical providers and their patients in notifying partners about potential HIV exposure; referrals to community services.

Prenatal Care
Through the Go Before You Show and Healthy Mom/Healthy Baby initiatives, pregnant women can call 2-1-1 and get help with insurance and with finding a prenatal care provider.

Preschool Education Program
Services such as speech therapy, physical therapy and special education for children three to five years old with developmental disabilities. 

Public Water Supply Program
Public water supplies encompass community and non-community drinking water systems. Activities include inspections, permits, complaint investigations, plan reviews and surveillance sampling.

Rabies Information Line
Educational information available at (914) 813-5010. Physician assessment of animal exposures 24 hours a day/7 days a week, preventive treatment following exposure, low-cost rabies vaccination clinics for dogs and cats, rabies testing of suspect animals, education.
